Whatever else happens to us in life we believe that from birth through to death we are all on a journey in faith!

Whether we are coming towards God, travelling with Him, turning our backs on Him, or seemingly stumbling unknowing in the dark, all of our life is a journey in faith; hopefully with God at its end - our ultimate destination. In St Peters Parish we run a course called the 'Journey in Faith', open to any from outside the Church who want to journey with us for a while, either because they are simply interested to know what the Church believes and why, or perhaps they believe they would like to become Catholic, or maybe simply to learn more about the Catholic Church and our Faith.
Through the Journey in Faith we examine our faith and belief in a series of discussions and talks. The talks are intended for people who are not Catholic, but would like to know more about the Church; and for Catholics who have lost touch with the Church and wish to renew their contact.
The meetings are informal and there is no obligation or commitment required of those who come along. Anyone who wishes to join the Church and has journeyed with us through to Easter can join the Church at that time, provided there is no barrier to their membership.
The meetings consist of a short talk, time for questions, an interval for coffee and discussion, ending with prayer.
Many people tell us that they have been thinking of coming along to the Journey in Faith for some time but have not done so because of a mixture of anxiety, fear of commitment and misunderstanding. Almost without exception those attending appear to enjoy the experience and express regret at having waited so long.
We aim for our meetings to be as informal and friendly as possible.Whilst there is usually some element of a 'talk' given we aim always to provoke questions and discussion, so that through sharing we can help each other to grow and to journey on. We also aim not to be always 'serious'. Each meeting is usually split by a break for coffee. It does not usually take long for a real group spirit to develop between those attending. The 'team' is comprised of Me, Nick Kelly, Imelda Weingart, Margaret and Peter McManus, and Louisa Maschio. We are frequently helped out by the Parish Priest, Deacon Ted and others. Our course starts in September or October each year, and you can see a typical programme by clicking here .
Please remember us in your prayers.
